First convocation of District Grand Chapter
M.E. W. H. Phillips (Jnr)
The ceremony was performed by Sir Chas. Cameron, C.B., Senior Past Grand High Priest of Grand Chapter, who installed M.E. W. H. Phillips (Jnr.) as District Grand First Principal, who then installed his Officers in their respective offices for the year. Afterwards the Grand Chapter Officers were entertained to a Banquet by the new District Grand Chapter presided over by the Grand First Principal, who thanked the officers of Grand Chapter and Sir Chas. Cameron for their kindness in coming there and starting them on their new duties and hoped they would see their way to visit them on a future occasion.
Sir Chas. Cameron replied thanking the new District for the magnificent way they had entertained himself and his colleagues and said it was the first time Grand Chapter had met outside Dublin and hoped it would not be the last.
He then proposed the health of the new District Chapter, which was suitably responded to by M.E. Companion Phillips.
The Registrar read letters of apology from Companions Colonel R. G. Sharman-Crawford, R. J. Hilton, Lord Shaftesbury, H. Allison, Wm. Neill, Rev. Wm. Wright and the Lord Primate.
